..

MAKE YOUR EMAIL EASILY UNDERSTOOD

.

If you are inquiring about multiple services, it helps to keep your email inquiry as concise as possible and stick with outlining the most important details.

If you contact companies abroad, there is the high probability that you are dealing with locals from that country whose English is not their first language.  To be best understood, use simple and straightforward words (refraining from abbreviations or slang) may prevent misunderstandings or requests for clarification.

.

TRANSFER INQUIRIES

.

.

By offering the following simple basic details you will receive complete information, and expedite your inquiry as the company will not be required to follow up with questions necessary for them to provide information. You will save time of reducing unnecessary follow up emails that can take up to 24 hours between each response.
.

Your Transfer inquiry email should include the following
.

  •  Type of Transfer (Airport Transfer or Civitavecchia Transfer)
  •  Date and Time of service (because day time and night time rates may differ)
  •  Pick up Location and Drop off Location
  •  Number of Persons in your party
  •  Estimated amount of luggage (so a proper vehicle size would be quoted for you).

.

Any additional information would be helpful: Such as if traveling with young children that might require a child seat or booster seat, traveling with a wheelchair that may require extra space in the luggage compartment.

When contacting a company for tours,  to save time and not waste time,  please take a few minutes to read through the company’s website to familiarize yourself with the type of tours they offer to ensure they can meet your needs.

Are you looking for a walking tour? If yes, a private or a group tour?

Are you looking for a tour by car? If yes, a private or a shared tour?

You can find such basic information on just about any tour provider’s website so you know you are contacting the right company for your needs.

On Stefano’s RomeCabs website we provide a wealth of information from detailed transfer and tour descriptions, How To videos, links to purchase admission tickets, and more.  We created our website to be as informative as possible for our clients’ most common and important questions to be answered simply by reading our website.

By browsing through a company’s website you might find answers to questions you previously had, and get ideas for tours you may not have previously considered.  When you learn more about tours that interest you, you can zero in on more specific information you may need so you will be provided more detailed information.
.

Your Tour inquiry email should include the following:
.

  • Type of Tour you are interested in. You can mention the tours by name from the company’s website, or mention the sites, towns, regions you are interested in visiting.
  •  Your Pick up  & Drop Off Location (Are you interested in a Day tour starting from Rome or a Shore Excursion from Italy’s cruise ports, Pre-Cruise or Post-Cruise Tour)
  •  Date of Tour(s) to ensure the sites in your preferred tour will be open for visits on your tour day
  • Number of Persons in your party

.

Any additional information would be helpful: Such as if traveling with young children that might require a child seat or booster seat, if any members in your party have mobility issues that would prevent them from walking or standing too long.

Whether you are arriving in Rome on a land trip or to begin your cruise, likely you will arrive at Fiumicino Airport.  Fiumicino Airport is the largest international airport in the region, and it can be pretty chaotic.

Unlike many airports, the baggage claims area where you collect your luggage at FCO (Fiumicino) airport is security restricted – meaning nobody without a valid airline ticket or special security clearance can access that area.   Therefore,  everyone who is waiting for friends and loved ones to arrive via FCO – including private drivers, must wait in a designated area in the main waiting hall of the arrival terminal.
.

This helpful video shows you where your driver will meet you and also offers helpful information such as using luggage trolleys to easily carry your luggage out from the baggage claims, use the complimentary wheelchair service for those with mobility issues, and what to do in case your flight arrives ahead of schedule or if you experience delays.

It’s a MUST for any RomeCabs clients to watch prior to arriving at FCO Airport.

Traveling to Italy this summer? Don’t forget to bring THESE with you

3 Jun Summer in Rome with RomeCabs

Buon giorno and welcome to Stefano’s RomeCabs Transfer and Tour blog. Our mission is to help you turn our trip to Italy into a vacation of a lifetime with our private transfers, day tours and shore excursions to many of Italy’s top destinations.

Summer is by far the most popular time millions of people worldwide travel to Italy on their summer vacations. While many travelers prefer to travel light (less luggage), especially when summer clothes take up such little space, there are a few things that you should bring with.

.

Traveling to Italy this summer?
Don’t forget to bring THESE with you

.

1 Comfortable Shoes

Summertime often means sandals, flip flops, and fashionable high heels… except in many places in Italy where you will come across cobblestones, uneven pavement, uphill and downhill streets,  and archaeological sites with dirt and stones.

In Italy, ditch the flip flops for the beach and wear comfortable foot supporting walking sandals or shoes that will protect your feet from injury or tripping.

.

2  Sun block, Sunglasses, Sunhat

The Mediterranean sun is strong in the summer, make sure you protect your skin, eyes, and head while sightseeing outdoors.

You can also also purchase these in Italy as they are widely available if you forget to bring yours or would like to do some shopping in Italy.
.

3 Bring something to cover your shoulders and knees inside churches.

If your wardrobe consists of sleeveless tops and shorts, dresses, or skirts that are above the knee, be sure to bring something with you that you can cover your shoulders and knees in event you wish to visit the amazing churches in Italy.

Many churches impose a modesty dress code that includes covering your shoulders and knees.
.

What not to wear in Italy Churches

Visitors turned away from St Peter’s Basilica

.

If you prefer to have flexibility and be spontaneous with your sightseeing destinations, bring something light with you that you can carry in your small day bag that not only you can use to cover up while visiting your favorite churches, but also to use in the evening when the temperature cools down and a shawl or a sleeved top will take away the chill.

.

4 Bring a Portable Water Bottle

It’s very hot in Italy in the summer, so it’s important to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Buying bottled water can cost 2 Euros or more at kiosk vendors near tourist attractions. At most cafes tourist markets, you find them at about 1 Euros each. At the local supermarket about 25 cents.

Even if you buy a pack of bottled water from a local market and keep them refrigerated in your room, you’d go through your first bottle of water by mid morning. You can either refill the same bottle of water throughout the day, or just bring a portable and refillable water bottle with you that you can reuse throughout your vacation.

Many fountains in large cities like Rome serve cold fresh natural drinking water, one of the best ways to quench your thirst in the Eternal City

You can also buy a large cold bottle of water from the market of cafe and use it to refill smaller bottles if you are traveling with family or friends.
.

.

5 A Back-up Piece of Luggage.

While many travelers travel light, when they arrive in Italy they find so many wonderful things to buy that their luggage suddenly cannot contain all their new purchases.  By bringing a light cloth duffel bag, you have enough space for your belongings and your new treasures.

And don’t forget… starting the the 2nd week of July is the much anticipated Summer Sale that hits all the major clothing, shoes, and accessories shops in Italy.  Your shopping spree just became more exciting and affordable!

And if your shopping spree extravaganza means too many shopping bags to carry, Stefano’s RomeCabs provides chauffeured service for the ultimate shopping spree in style and comfort in  your private deluxe vehicle and personal driver at your disposal.

5 Ways to book the Perfect Airport Transfer in Rome

30 May Stefan's RomeCabs Company

.

Buon giorno and welcome to Stefano’s RomeCabs, Rome’s leading company for reliable Transfers and Tours

For more than 12 years Stefano’s RomeCabs have welcomed tens of thousands of travelers to Rome, and saw off just as many at the end of their holiday.

For more information about RomeCabs’ airport transfers, please click:  AIRPORT TRANSFERS
.

Here are 5 Ways to book the Perfect Airport Transfers in Rome

.

1  Book your Airport Transfers in advance.

Don’t wait until the very last minute to book your airport transfers.

Not only last minute availability is limited during peak travel months and holidays, but when booking something as important and detailed oriented as an Airport Transfer, it’s easy to make errors in placing your reservations or overlook important information provided by the company regarding your transfers.

.

2  Book ALL your transfers together

To simplify your travel plans and secure all your transfers together, it’s best to book ALL your transfers together in advance and have one less thing to worry about during your trip.

This will eliminate stress during your holiday worrying about how you will make your way back to the airport for your departure transfer, and making last minute transfer arrangements abroad can be problematic if you can’t secure availability.
.

3  Include your total luggage count

Inform the company of the total number of luggage pieces (suitcases and carry ons) you have to ensure you will be provided a suitable size vehicle to accommodate all passengers and luggage safely together.

4  Arriving at Fiumicino Airport?  Prepare in advance.

Read the important information provided on our website, in our confirmation emails, and watch our helpful video on How to Meet your RomeCabs Driver at Fiumicino Airport
.

HOW TO MEET YOUR ROMECABS DRIVER AT FIUMIICINO AIRPORT
.

..

.

5. Turn your Airport Transfer into a Mini Tour of Rome

Stefano’s RomeCabs offers very popular VIP TRANFSERS with options for 1 hour tour by car, or 2 hour mini tour in Rome with options to make stops to take photos, have a quick lunch, coffee, gelato or do some preparatory shopping.

This is your time to spend as you wish with your English speaking RomeCabs Driver at your disposal.

4  Flying out of Rome internationally?
Select your pick up correctly

Book your Transfer from Rome to the Airport at least 3 hours prior to your International flight departure time.

Don’t book your pick up transfer too close to your flight, you will risk missing your flight if you encounter unexpected traffic delays which is always problematic and unpredictable in Rome.

.

5  Flying out from Fiumicino Airport?
Check your departure Terminal Number

If your flight departs from Fiumicino Airport, check the Terminal Number your flight will depart from and inform the company which terminal to drop you off at for accurate service.

You could be flying out of Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, and Terminal 5

At Fiumicino Airport airlines share multiple Terminals for departure depending on first destination cities, code sharing, or other circumstances.

Sometimes airlines may also change Terminals last minute and it’s important to check your departure details for any changes.

.

We hope these easy tips will help make your Airport Transfers in Rome or elsewhere in the world a perfect beginning and ending to your holiday!

“Swan Lake” and the Enchanting Lake Bracciano

26 May Swan Lake - Bracciano Lake tour with Rome Cabs

.

Buon giorno and welcome to Stefano’s RomeCabs, Rome’s leading company for private Transfers, Day Tours, and Shore Excursions.

This article features the following video and the enchanting villages that surrounds Lake Bracciano:

“Swan Lake” and the Enchanting Lake Bracciano

 .

 .

Lake Bracciano is one of the most famous and prominent lakes in Italy, located in the countryside of Rome not far from the port of Civitavecchia and it’s one of the most popular countryside destinations on RomeCabs’ Day Tours and Shore Excursions.

Considered the 8th largest lake in Italy, Lake Bracciano is widely used for sailing, rowing, and its dark sandy beaches attracts a large number of beach goers in the summer months.

Surrounded by the charming lakeside villages of Bracciano, Anguillara and Trevignano, Lake Bracciano is one of the most seeked out destinations for Romans wishing to escape the city of life of Rome, and visitors who wish to experience the tranquility and the beauty the Roman countryside has to offer.

.

“SWAN LAKE”

What makes Lake Bracciano even more enchanting are the many swans that grace the shores and sometimes even mingle with the people who gather on the dark sand lakeside beaches in awe and fascination around these beautiful and graceful birds.

In English, the word swan comes from the Indo-European root “swen’ – to sound or to sing.

In Italian, swans are called “cigno” (chee-nio), deriving from the Latin word “cycnus” (meaning a bird noted for it singing and sacred to pagan Sun god Apollo).

.

THE ENCHANTING LAKESIDE VILLAGES

The best places to have the opportunity to encounter these beautiful swans are along the shores of Trevignano, Anguillara, and the promenades near Bracciano.

.

TREVIGNANO

Trevignano is one of the lakeside villages with charming promenades lined with outdoor cafes and restaurants, Sunday markets, and folks taking strolls by the lake.

Inland, you discover the sleepy Medieval hamlet of Trevignano that has retained its historic feel that gives visitors the impression of stepping back in time a thousand years!

Walled in from the rest of the more modern world, the hamlet is a quite charming refuge of narrow alleys lined with cute doorways and windows with lacy curtains, a few local shops, and weathered facades of medieval stone buildings.
.

.

ANGUILLARA

Anguillara (officially named Anguillara Sabazia) is another medieval village that rests on a small cape on the coast providing a spectacular backdrop as the lake mirrors its reflection it is pristine clear water.

Its most spectacular feature is the promenade that leads to the village open lakeside square and its dark sandy beaches that is a popular destination for Italians and some foreign tourists who wish to spend a day at the lake.

BRACCIANO

The village of Bracciano is larger than the other two villages and it’s dominated by 15th century Renaissance Bracciano Castle (Castello Orsini-Odescalchi) that is still owned by the same Odescalchi family since the Renaissance times.

5 Fun Reasons to Tour Rome By Night with RomeCabs

15 May Trajan's Forum, part of RomeCabs Rome by Night Tour

Rome is very exciting, lively, and even chaotic during the day bustling with tourists, buses, and local traffic. The sun radiates brightly on weathered earth toned buildings and on ancient monuments of stone.

At night, the atmosphere changes….

As the darkness descends on the Eternal City casting glowing tones of crimson and gold, and slowing transitioning into the midnight blue skies, the magic begins.

Stefano’s RomeCabs features a very popular ROME AT NIGHT TOUR that takes you on a magical 2 hour journey through Rome to see many of Rome’s most amazing squares and monument that are quite remarkable at night.

Here are our top 5 reasons to tour Rome by Night with Stefano’s RomeCabs

1  See More of Rome at Night by car

You have the opportunity to see MORE of Rome’s fascinating places by car than on foot. If you are on limited time and would like to see as much of Rome at night as possible, this is the perfect way.

2. English speaking Driver on your Rome at Night Tour

Your English speaking RomeCabs Driver is at your disposal to communicate with you the sites you visit, and to offer suggestions based on your interests if you wish to see other places than suggested on our tour page.

3. Perfect for tired travelers

If after day exploring Rome on foot, the last thing you probably want to do is go out and further explore Rome at night once again on foot.  The ancient cobblestones and uneven sidewalks can wreak havoc on tired feet.  Touring by car eliminates this extra effort as you are comfortably driven from site to site.

4. Your driver will stop as close to the sites as possible

Your driver will drop you off as close to the sites as possible for you to step out, enjoy the scenery, and take photos. You don’t have to worry about how to get around from place to place, your driver will take you exactly where you need to go.  This is convenience at its best!

5. Tour Rome at Night in Comfort and Style with RomeCabs

Our deluxe vehicles are comfortable, air conditioned, and makes for an elegant way to enjoy Rome at night.

PANORAMIC ROME FOR CRUISERS SHORE EXCURSION

13 May Colosseum, part of Panoramic Rome for Cruises Tours with RomeCabs

Stefano RomeCab’s popular Panoramic Rome for Cruisers Tour excursion from Civitavecchia offers experienced and leisure seeking cruisers the opportunity to enjoy Rome at a more relaxed pace, sample more of Rome’s highlights, not be obligated to purchase expensive admission tickets that are non-refundable should your travel plans change, and avoid the super crowded tourist attractions like the Colosseum and the Vatican.

AVOID THE CROWDS ON YOUR ROME TOUR

Why battle crowds lined up to enter the crowded Colosseum with potential security lines that eat up your precious sightseeing time when the exterior of the Colosseum is considered by many it’s most fabulous feature (and it doesn’t cost you anything to see it from the outside).

SAVE TIME TO SEE MORE BEAUTIFUL PLACES IN ROME

By not spending so much time inside the Colosseum, you have time to explore the spacious Colosseum Square to admire the Colosseum from its different sides, as well as the nearby Arch of Constantine.

The Vatican, although fabulous, it’s also super crowded in the summer months. It’s been described as a hot can of sardines with visitors pushed and shoved forward in what appears to be a human river slowly moving forward.

It’s certainly not an enjoyable way to spend 2 hours, crushed from left to right by large group tours and visitors (many with selfie sticks).

The Vatican is best enjoyed OFF season between November and February when there are relatively few visitors in comparison to the massive crowds in the tourist season.

ENJOY UNEXPECTED PLACES IN ROME!

On this tour you also have the wonderful opportunity to experience something quite unique:  ROME UNDERGROUND!

Beneath Basilica of San Clemente are 2 incredible layers of Ancient History to explore: 4th century AD basilica that was converted from a Roman noble’s private house that features beautiful ancient wall frescoes, mosaics, and sculpture fragments that you can see as you  make your way through the many underground rooms and passageways.

Deeper still is a 1st century AD ancient Roman structure that may have been a residential complex that once upon a time included a Mithraic temple (dedicated to the pagan god Mithras) that is still in remarkable condition!

During hot summer months, a journey in time and underground, is a cool and refreshing respite!

  • Pantheon
  • Piazza della Rotonda
  • Trevi Fountain
  • Spanish Steps
